What is KC Works and how is STEMEd+ Commons linked to KC Works?
KC Works is the repository for all of Knowledge Commons. STEMEd+ Commons is a “Collection” within KC Works. When you add works into the STEMEd+ Commons KC Works Repository, you are adding your work into all of Knowledge Commons. The work is also curated into the STEMEd+ Commons.
How to upload a work to STEMEd+ Commons Collection
In order for your work to appear in STEMEd+ Commons Collection, the user needs to submit to the STEMEd+ Collection while submitting or after submitting a work. If the work is not selected for the STEMEd+ Commons, it will remain in the greater KC Works repository, but will not show up in STEMEd+ Commons searches.

Step #1: Click “Search Repository” below “Explore” in the horizontal toolbar at the top of the page or click “Explore Open Access Scholarship” in the buttons at the lower half right side of the home page. This will take you to the KC Works interface, which is the repository for all of Knowledge Commons and STEMEd+ Commons.
Step #2: On the STEMEd+ Commons KC Works homepage, there is a horizontal bar at the top of the page with an icon to “Add a work.” Click this button. This will open up a step-by-step process. Select the "Collections & Access" Tab before selecting "Resource Type".
Step #3: When at the “Collections & Access” Tab at the top of the screen, you will have the option to submit your work to a collection. Click on “Select a collection.”
Step #4: This will open up a box where you can search the collections. Type in “STEMEd+ Commons.” STEMEd+ Commons is a collection.
Step #5: Once you select the STEMEd+ Commons collection, you will be prompted to consent to the piece being immediately published in STEMEd+ Commons.
If you have already submitted your work, but wish to submit the work to STEMEd+ Collection, here is a step-by-step guide to submitting.
Step #1: While viewing your work in KC Works, you will see an option to “submit this work to a collection” on the top right side of the screen. Select “submit to a collection.”
Step #2: You will then be prompted to select a collection for submission. Type in “STEMEd+ Commons” the search bar and the collection will show up.
Step #3: You will then be prompted to submit the work for review and entry into the collection.
